Following the successful rollout of the internal combustion engine (ICE) Punch facelift last month, Tata Motors is set to announce the prices of the updated 2026 Punch EV on February 20. This launch is part of Tata’s aggressive 2026 roadmap, which includes high-profile debuts like the Sierra EV and the premium Avinya range.
While the existing Punch EV was already a feature-rich offering, the 2026 update aims to keep it competitive against a growing field of rivals by adopting the “human-centric” design language and advanced safety tech seen in Tata’s larger SUVs.
Modern Aesthetics: Connected LEDs and Fresh Palette
The 2026 facelift brings the Punch EV closer in appearance to the Nexon EV. Key exterior changes include:
- Connected LED Tail Lamps: Inherited from the recently launched ICE facelift, giving the rear a more premium, wider stance.
- Revised Bumpers: Subtle aerodynamic tweaks to the front and rear to eke out slightly better efficiency.
- New Alloy Wheels: A fresh set of 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.
- Refreshed Color Palette: Expected to feature the “Bengal Rouge” and “Coorg Clouds” shades introduced with the petrol variant.
Interior Tech: The ADAS Edge
The most significant upgrade is expected under the safety umbrella. While the ICE version features a blank radar housing, the 2026 Punch EV is likely to debut a first-in-segment ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) suite.
The cabin will retain its premium 10.25-inch dual-screen setup (infotainment and digital cluster) but will feature:
- New Upholstery: Fresh themes with ventilated front seats as standard on top trims.
- Illuminated Steering: The new two-spoke gloss-black steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo.
- Enhanced Safety: Six airbags as standard, 360-degree camera, and Electronic Stability Control (ESC).
Consistent Performance: Range and Battery Options
Tata is expected to stick with its proven high-voltage Acti.ev architecture. While the hardware remains consistent, software optimizations could provide a marginal boost to real-world efficiency.
| Battery Pack | Power | Torque | Claimed Range (MIDC) |
| 25 kWh (Medium Range) | 82 PS | 114 Nm | 315 km |
| 35 kWh (Long Range) | 122 PS | 190 Nm | 421 km |
Market Position and Expected Price
The 2026 Tata Punch EV is expected to start at approximately Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom), commanding a slight premium over the outgoing model. While it faces no direct rival in the micro-SUV EV space, it will compete for market share with the Citroen eC3 and its own sibling, the Tiago EV.
